RE-ELECT Rob Hargrave for Ward 6 Councillor

About Rob

Who Is Rob?

I have been associated with Stouffville for over 50 years having grown up in north Markham in the community of Dickson Hill. I have been living in ward 6 with my wife Debbie and sons Ryan, Sean and daughter Laura for 28years.  Over this time period I have been   involved with minor hockey, soccer, baseball and Beavers.

My professional career has been in sales management. My 20 plus years of experience was gained by working for multi-national companies such as Labatt’s, Robely International and World Kitchen (Corelle dinnerware).  I currently have a retail consulting company that advises manufactures who deal with national retailers in both Canada and the US.

I was first elected to Council in 2003. Since day one I have made the concerns of constituents my number one priority.  The biggest challenge that I have seen on council over the past 10 years is integrating development into a small town setting.  Negotiations, patience and persistence have been my best qualities in dealing with the issues that have confronted the town and residents.

Over the past 10 years I have been a member of the Economic Development committee, Heritage Advisor Board, BIA, Library Board and the town’s Compensation Policy Review Committee.  I have been honoured to work with an excellent team of councillors, mayor and senior town staffs that have delivered state of the art capital projects with small tax increase.  Clipper Double Rink Complex, Weldon Fire Hall, New Town Hall, 19 On the Park,  Bethesda Park soccer and baseball diamonds, Memorial Park main baseball diamond renovation and the new skate park and basketball courts in Memorial Park .

In my leisure time I golf, curl, and I’m an active runner who enjoys a run through our great trail system.  I enjoy helping throughout the community I’m a regular participant at the Terry Fox run. I worked with a great group of Stouffville residents and doctors to bring the “Pillars” event to Stouffville honouring the founding doctors of our town.
